WELCOME NEW STARTERS

Welcome to Cookie Club Purwell, we are so excited that you and your family are joining us. We understand that there are lots of changes for children when they first start at The Cookie Club, especially if they are also starting at a new school too, and it can sometimes feel a little overwhelming. Please have a look over this information with your child; it should answer lots of questions and help make things a little more familiar, ready for their first sessions.

Before School at Cookie Club

Arriving at Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club opens at 7:30am. Children can be dropped off any time after this, but we ask that if they attend Highover School, they are dropped off no later than 8:20am, so that they don't miss the transport to school.

Team members will come to the door to greet you and your child, and take any information/messages that you might need to let us know. Children are asked to hang up their things, and then they can have some breakfast and a drink, or enjoy the play activities on offer.

Highover pupils collect their belongings and leave Cookie Club around 8:25-8:30am. They are driven to school by a team member, who will take them to their classroom doors and see them into school.

Purwell Pupils leave Cookie Club at around 8:45am, and walk to their playgrounds where team members will stay until the children line up and enter their classrooms.

After School at Cookie Club

School Pick-up & Arriving at Cookie Club

For Purwell Pupils:

Children are collected from the school dining hall at the end of the school day by our team members. They will be a familiar face to the children as they will be with them throughout the sessions at Cookie Club. We keep the school updated with who we'll be collecting on a regular basis, so school staff will either bring children to the dining room, or for older children, let them walk from their classrooms. They will then walk together to Cookie Club in the Community Room.

They will be a familiar face to the children as they will be with them throughout the sessions at Cookie Club. We keep the school updated with who we'll be collecting on a regular basis, so school staff will remind children at the end of the school day. They then walk to the Cookie Club cars and travel the short drive to Cookie Club at Purwell.

We have a great relationship with both schools and are able to discuss how their day has been, as well as any important information at pick up time.

When children arrive at the club, they hang up their things and wash their hands for snack. We sit down at the table and often talk about our day.

Time to Play, Teatime & Goodbyes

Our sessions are based on 'free play' where the children are supported and encouraged to engage in activities. There will be planned, topical activities on offer, some adult led, many children's choice and always the opportunity to go outside if the weather allows us! We always ensure there are some cosy 'chill out zones' as we are aware it is often a long day, especially for our younger children. We always ensure there is a quieter, cosy 'chill out area' available; we understand that it is often a long day, especially for our younger children.

We stop for a light tea around 4:30pm and then continue to play until the children are collected.

Many of our team members work every day and there are also some that work a few days each week.
